Buds in the Pumpkin Patch

Okay, so I posted this on Facebook last night, but I couldn’t resist putting it here, too, with a bit more embellishing. You know, for posterity. And my own benefit. So skip it if you like, or laugh your silly head off one more time and read on…

Yesterday, Eli and I met our friends out at the pumpkin patch here in town. Here’s a glimpse of what transpired. With a little help in the dialogue department from yours truly.

Eli: Hey man, wanna see a trick?
Patrick: Sure kid, what’cha got.

E: This is how I roll!
P: Whoa!

P: Dude, you okay?
E: Yeah, man, I’m okay. Pretty cool trick, huh?
P: If you say so…
E: But wait, there’s more.
P: Oh boy.

E: And now, I will attempt to lift this GIANT pumpkin with my bare hands! Watch and learn.
P: Dude, seriously? You just did a face plant and now you want to lift that thing? Whatever…

P: Um, excuse me…
E: What? I sit on my momma’s lap all the time. Pssh… Aggie.
P: Whatever, Bevo.

And that was our adventure at the Pumpkin Patch.

Some things to note:

Yes, he did do a head dive right off that bench. I caught it on camera because he was giving this goofy grin right before that which is what I was actually trying to get but by the time the shutter clicked, he was half-way to the ground. Maybe he was already planning his acrobatics at that point? I don’t know. What I do know is it didn’t phase him one bit. While us adults were laughing hysterically at him, he got right back up and back on that bench. He’s okay, by the way. He’s got a hard head. Besides, I really do think he planned it.

I sure love that goofy boy.

Ha! I think P and E are gonna be the kind of friends that both think each other’s a little bit “off” but still do everything together anyway. They always look at each other like “I can’t believe you are doing that” and “I can’t believe you are just sitting there.”
